If your looking at sites online then these tips will give you a clue to whether they are legitimate or not. The first thing to look for is how hard is it to find information about the company if there isn’t any listed this should be your first warning bell. The next thing to consider is how fast their website loads and if there are any errors if it takes too long or you encounter an error this may indicate they aren’t particularly concerned about their customers or don’t have the budget to provide a fast loading updated site.
Next they should have a clear and easy to find privacy policy this should outline what they do with your data and if they have any options available if you decide in future you don’t want your data stored with them. Any finance company that does not provide a privacy policy and does not promise to share or sell your information to third parties may be a company you want to avoid. Particularly if you don’t want telemarketers ringing you often trying to offer you finance or related products.
It is very important that you find a company with a long track record and a solid history this information should be displayed clearly on an about us page. If you rush into a contract without doing this you may find yourself in trouble later on down the track if the company collapses and a liquidator calls in your loan with little notice.
As well as gathering online data you should also ask around see if you can find people who have had a positive experience in dealing with the firm before. Never rush into any finance agreement and make sure you understand any terms and all small print before agreeing to any finance arrangement.
